Thursday, December 14, 2017

Daniel Shehori '93 spent three years in Australia after graduating from Bayview Glen and visited other parts of the world before coming home Toronto and working with the Second City theatre. Daniel is now working with his brother Steven Shehori. Between them, they’ve garnered four Gemini Award nominations, a Dora nomination, plus 16 Canadian Comedy Award nominations (and three wins!) as writers, directors and producers. They’ve worked as producers and writers for the 2009 Just for Laughs Massey Hall Galas, featuring such comedy legends as Sarah Silverman, David Cross and Louis C.K. This was followed up by their original stage production Stephen Harper! The Musical, a political satire that played to packed houses and rave reviews across the country in 2010 and 2011. The brothers were writers for the 2010 WGC Awards, the 2009 & 2010 ACTRA Awards, the 2008 Genie Awards and the 2006, 2007 & 2008 Gemini Awards. They also served as senior writers for The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos, and CBC's This hour has 22 minutes. They started their own PR company in 2002 called Sweat Equity. In September 2017, they released their first book "Media Whore" that is now being sold worldwide, and covers close to 20 years of their experience working within the Entertainment industry.
