Alumni Spotlight: Klement Yeung '14

Klement Yeung '14 made his first appearance at the Canadian Championships at the age of 10, earning two gold medals. He later went on to collect 9 gold medals among 16 podium finishes in this annual tournament and earned the title of North American Champion twice, and two more podium finishes in international Junior Team events. The high point of his career as a junior was placing as the top Canadian finisher in 2014 North American Youth Olympics Qualification. Meanwhile, he maintained academic excellence throughout school and was awarded the Top of the Grade award before he graduated and enrolled at McMaster University in Health Sciences. During his time at McMaster, Klement competed internationally, representing Canada at the World Junior Championships and the North American Cup. He became president of the McMaster Table Tennis Club, and they became the Regional Champions in North American Collegiate Table Tennis and he represented his school at Nationals. In 2016 he coached the Ontario Team at the Canadian Championships and Ontario Summer Games. He later became the Assistant Coach in 2017 for Team Canada at the World Senior Championships, as well as helped his brother attain victory as the Canadian Cadet Champion. Klement successfully entered Medical School at McMaster and expects to graduate in 2020.
