BVG Network Annual Regional Visits in British Columbia
BVG Network is a new initiative by the Bayview Glen Alumni Relations Office intended to strengthen the relationship of regional alumni with Bayview Glen. Working in partnership with Mr. Troy Hammond, our Director of University Counselling, the mission of BVG Network is to connect Bayview Glen alumni in the region and promote strong, lifelong connections with each other and the school.
On October 21, Mr. Hammond travelled to Vancouver for the second BVG Network annual regional chapter visit, and had a great time connecting with graduates studying at Quest University and University of British Columbia, including Amika Shah ’12, Daniel Herrmann ’13, Michelle Warner ’14, Jerry Li ’15 and Madeline Yeskoo ’15. Mr. Hammond also received correspondence from other alumni in British Columbia who were unable to participate, but were thrilled with the outreach made by the school. The alumni were quite appreciative of the visit by Mr. Hammond as they are not in regular contact with the school and former classmates due to geographic distance and time zone differences. The visit also provided the perfect opportunity to learn about the ways in which our alumni value their Bayview Glen education and how they apply their learning to their post-secondary studies. From their participation in Round Square initiatives and various clubs like DECA, Model UN and choir to specific learning opportunities afforded through Harkness Tables and Advanced Placement courses, the alumni were happy to reflect on their Bayview Glen experiences. One of our alumni, Jerry, is still using his Bayview Glen tablet and is very proud of it!
Thank you to all alumni who have supported the BVG Network programme. We are planning for Mr. Hammond to make more visits in the new year. Please stay tuned and visit the Alumni section of the school website or check out our Alumni Facebook Group for dates and locations of the next regional visits.
