Daniel Shehori '93 spent three years in Australia after graduating from Bayview Glen and visited other parts of the world before coming home Toronto and working with the Second City theatre. Daniel is now working with his brother Steven Shehori. Between them, they’ve garnered four Gemini Award nominations, a Dora nomination, plus 16 Canadian Comedy Award nominations (and three wins!) as writers, directors and producers. Klement Yeung '14 made his first appearance at the Canadian Championships at the age of 10, earning two gold medals. He later went on to collect 9 gold medals among 16 podium finishes in this annual tournament and earned the title of North American Champion twice, and two more podium finishes in international Junior Team events. Justina Yeung '17 first began table tennis lessons at the age of 8, and became the Canadian Champion a few short years later at the age of 13. Since then, Justina has reached the podium at nearly all the events she has competed in, including the North American Championships and World Junior Circuits, with her highest record at one Canadian Championships being 7 medals out of the 8 categories she competed in. On December 8, Mr. Hammond visited Western University and connected with a group of recent graduates studying there. Mr. Hammond also met with an alumna Samantha Lee '08 who is working as a professional accompanist with the Faculty of Music at Western University.

On Tuesday, December 5, Zahra Sakkejha ’06 and Jenise Chen ’09 returned to Bayview Glen as guest speakers at our second Career Breakfast, and shared their insights in the Science and Research industry with our current students and parents from the Prep and Upper School community.  Zahra Sakkejha, Class of 2006, graduated from Western University for Biology and after working in immunology and genetic research, she is currently an entrepreneur applying her diverse science and business experience... On November 14-15, Mr. Hammond returned to Vancouver for the third BVG Network annual regional visit, and connected with graduates studying at the University of British Columbia, including Michelle Warner '14, Madeline Yeskoo '15, Jessica Wickett '16 and Diana Purcaru '17. In addition, Mr. Hammond has connected with two alumni currently working in Vancouver: Brandon Chung '07 as Judicial Law Clerk with BC Court of Appeal, and Victoria Lee '08 as Software Engineer with Apple.

Every year on the Friday evening of Thanksgiving weekend, Bayview Glen hosts a Homecoming event for our amazing alumni, an annual tradition introduced by Mrs. Daunt and Ms. Astrella 14 years ago. On Friday, October 6, this year’s Alumni Homecoming welcomed back more than 80 participants, including alumni, faculty, staff, former faculty and past parents. On April 19, Mr. Hammond, Director of University Counselling, met with several Bayview Glen alumni at McMaster University. The intent of this particular visit was to continue developing the regional network in Hamilton and to provide some exam-time levity for alumni.
