Who we are
All parents and guardians of current students at Bayview Glen are a part of the Bayview Glen Parent Association (BVGPA). We are a valuable resource of parent volunteers who generously donate time and effort, bringing our families together to support the school in building a strong and nurturing community. Please visit the BVG Parents link on the school’s website for information on volunteer opportunities for the school year. Announcements will also be made on the Parent Association page of the BVG newsletter and on our Facebook page and on Twitter.

Mission statement
Our mission is to enhance the spirit of the school, facilitate communications, and raise funds for the enrichment of our children’s lives at Bayview Glen.

The Parent Association is responsible for:

  • both the Duncan Mill Campus Shop (BG2 to Grade 5) and Moatfield Campus Shop (Grades 6 to 12) where students may purchase uniforms and school supplies
  • the Textbook Programme (sales, distribution and consignment of textbooks) to the students from Grades 7 to 12

Activities and Events

  • Fall Fest
  • Magazine Sales
  • Chapter's Night 
  • Holiday Gift Sale
  • Treat Cart in the Lower School and Prep School (on Civvies Day)
  • Art Exhibit and Auction
  • Holiday Luncheon and Yearend Luncheon
  • any additional fundraising and social activities.

All parents/guardians are encouraged and welcome to attend Parent Association meetings. Dates for our meetings are published in the school calendar.

Parent Association Officers are elected annually to oversee the activities. The elected members represent the Parent Association Executive and lead the Association-driven functions and activities. Elections are held in the fall of each year and elected officers have tenures ranging from one to three years.


Nominations for 2018 New Executives and Convenors

Starting on October 2, the Parent Association will be accepting nominations for the following Executive* and Convenor positions for the tenure term from January 2018 to December 2019:

  • Secretary*

  • Parent Outreach Convenor*

  • Communications Convenor*

  • Magazine Fundraising Convenor

The Nomination form including job descriptions can be downloaded here. Completed nominations should be submitted no later than November 1, 2017. We encourage you to join our vibrant and diverse group of parent volunteers!

The Parent Association of Bayview Glen is a member of Interguild (Ontario). Interguild is an organization which brings together representatives of Guild/Parent Associations of Independent Schools in Ontario, which are members of the Conference of Independent Schools (CIS). Interguild’s purpose is to foster communications and facilitate the collaborative sharing of ideas and information among the CIS Parent Associations and Guilds.
