BVG Network Alumni Regional Visits to Kitchener-Waterloo and Kingston
Mr. Hammond, Director of University Counselling, met with Bayview Glen alumni on April 5 studying at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, followed by a visit with those at the Royal Military College of Canada and Queen’s University on April 10. The intent of these visits was to establish the regional networks in the Kitchener-Waterloo region and in Kingston, plus to provide some exam-time levity for our young alumni.
Close to 20 former students from the Classes of 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 visited with Mr. Hammond, as well as one alum from 2009 who checked in via social media. Ms. Eva Lee and the math team were also at the University of Waterloo on April 5, and they met with some alumni during the annual math contest there. As is often the case, many of our graduates commented upon how the Advanced Placement programme at Bayview Glen and the collaborative work environment we provide helped to prepare them for success at the university-level.
Our regional visits will continue to evolve in the next school year. If you have any suggestions for future visits or if you are an alum wishing to help host a regional event, please feel free to contact Ms. Lau at mlau@bayviewglen.ca. Alumni are encouraged to keep Ms. Lau updated with their current email addresses and social media contacts so that they can be informed of future regional visits.
