Career Breakfast on Innovative Technologies
On Tuesday, December 3, two talented alumni - Jonathan Moneta '03 and Robyn Richardson '07 - returned to Bayview Glen as guest speakers at our Career Breakfast and shared their insights about Innovative Technologies with our current students and parents from the Prep and Upper School community.
Robyn spoke about her different roles over the years and showed a video highlighting many of the special effects that her team is responsible for in a wide variety of shows on Netflix and CBS. She concluded by sharing her top three pieces of advice - explore what interests you, your network will be imperative, and skills you are developing now will matter. Jonathan also echoed the importance of building a network and how your friends are your best network. When starting his company, MakeLab, it was another Bayview Glen graduate, Tiffany McKenzie '04, who taught him about the legal aspect that he would not know otherwise. One message that parents and students alike walked away with, was that your journey is going to be different iterations of what you like - if something doesn’t work out, try to pivot.
The last Career Breakfast of the school year is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 7:30 a.m. in the Parent Association Library and Learning Commons at our Moatfield Campus. Please stay tuned for more details. We look forward to seeing you at our next Career Breakfast.
