Career Breakfast on Mathematics
On Tuesday, October 22, we were pleased to host the first Career Breakfast for this school year in the Parent Association Learning Commons at our Moatfield Campus to explore a day in the life in Mathematics with two of our Bayview Glen alumni, Ambrish Shah and Alia Saeed '08.
Both Ambrish and Alia made students and parents re-think the importance of mathematics and its role in critical thinking which can be applied to a wide variety of areas both in the workplace and out. As Ambrish mentioned “Mathematics is not just a stand alone subject of field of study. It’s a language and essential tool for all other sciences. Skills that are honed and nurtured by mathematics include logic and reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving and even effective communication skills.” In addition, both reflected fondly on their time at Bayview Glen and the many opportunities they experienced that have been advantageous. In particular, they shared the impact of their Round Square experience both personally and professionally.
The next Career Breakfasts are scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2019 and Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 7:30 a.m. at our Moatfield Campus. Please stay tuned for more details.
