Career Breakfast on Psychology
On Tuesday, March 2, Courtney Chow '11 and Erin Matsuba '15 joined our last online Career Breakfast of the school year as alumni speakers, and shared their insights in the Psychology industry with our current students and parents from the Prep and Upper School community.
Though they both studied psychology, they have had very different and impactful career journeys. Courtney, through her passion for dance and her connection with the National Ballet School, volunteered with the “Dance with Parkinson’s” programme. This led her to researching and studying Clinical Mental Health Counselling with a specialization in Dance Movement Therapy. Erin shared how she discovered her interest in psychology through the “Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology and Sociology” class she took with Ms. Dybala, along with her time working at Bayview Glen Day Camp. She affirmed to current students that it is okay to be unsure of what you want to do. “You are fortunate to have both choice and time on your side.” Both alumnae reflected on why they chose this field and highlighted the positive impact you can have on other people’s lives, their future and the broader community.
Thank you to Courtney and Erin for their involvement and support of our school community. All three online Career Breakfasts were great successes and featured inspirational alumni speakers. We look forward to seeing you at the Career Breakfasts next year.
