Congratulations to #BVGAlumni Terence Yeung ’20 on reaching the podium again this past weekend with a Bronze medal in Table Tennis Men Singles at the 2021 Canadian Championships held in Laval, Québec. Terence is one of 32 players in the world invited to play in the age-based individual events in the Table Tennis World Youth Championships to be held in Portugal this December. Terence is honoured to represent Canada in that annual prestigious event, and he is the only Canadian and one of 4 North Americans invited for the U19 categories. Additionally, Terence has qualified as one of 64 players in the Main Event of the Classic Tetris World Championships 2021 that will be held this coming weekend online. We wish Terence all the best as he continues his studies at Western University while training and preparing for the world championships.

Terence made history by taking the highest podium in singles among Canadians in this tournament since its 2016 debut. We wish Terence the best of luck at the World Youth Championships in Portugal this December. #TableTennisCanada

Christina Rakitzis graduated from Bayview Glen in 2015 and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Toronto this year in Diaspora and Transnational Studies, Equity Studies and Human Geography Studies. In addition, Christina has studied at the Parsons School of Design in New York and started her own apparel business, @eletrostreetwear, based in Toronto and also available in New York and Los Angeles. Erin Matsuba, B.A. & Sc., attended McGill University following her graduation from Bayview Glen in 2015. In 2019, she graduated from McGill with First Class Honours in Cognitive Science with a Minor in Psychology. Erin is currently a Doctoral Student at Syracuse University, where she studies Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) using neuroimaging techniques such as electroencephalography. Erin is also a Student Clinician at the Psychological Services Center, where she provides therapy to children and adults diagnosed with anxiety, depression, ASD and more.
Courtney Chow graduated from Bayview Glen in 2011 with honours and received the Catherine Benson Citizenship Award. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from McGill University’15 and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University’18, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Licensed as a Mental Health Counsellor, Courtney worked in Boston as a Clinical Supervisor for Bay Cove Human Services providing community mental health treatment to at risk adults with addiction and mental health disorders. She recently returned to Toronto and is waiting for licensure with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
We are proud to share that #BVGAlumni Jordyn Listro ’13 has been selected to join the Canadian women’s soccer national team roster for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup in Orlando, FL, USA.
Jordyn made her international “A” debut for Canada on February 21 against Argentina, and the Canada team won the match with a 1:0 victory.
