#BVGAlumni Julian Wong ’12 joined RBC in 2021 and is currently working as a Manager, Enterprise Efficiency, where he drives and integrates strategic efficiency efforts across businesses and functions to help drive value and enable future growth. Prior to RBC, Julian worked as a Senior Analyst, Operational Risk Management at President’s Choice Financial and held various Assurance positions at PwC Canada. Julian completed his Master of Accounting (MAcc) from Waterloo in 2017 and obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant/Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 2019. Congratulations to #BVGAlumni Victoria (Clemmer) Battams ’07 on her remarkable accomplishments in the mechanical field. Victoria graduated from the MAP 32 Automotive Service Technician programme at Centennial College in 2010. She has since obtained journey-person status as a licensed Automotive Technician. Victoria is the first woman in GO Transit / Metrolinx’s 54 year history to be employed in a mechanical position within their Bus Fleet Maintenance and Engineering department. BVGAlumni Ken Shek ’02 obtained his MBA from HKUST Business School in 2013 and has been working at Apple in Singapore since then. Ken is currently the Senior Manager, Channel Fulfilment and Returns (Asia Pacific) at Apple where he manages a team of 40+ dedicated to ensuring frictionless, cost effective and on time order fulfilment and deliveries of all Apple products to 400+ Resellers across Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Apple in Singapore, Ken had extensive experience working at BlackBerry as well as various organizations in Hong Kong and Shanghai, China. BVGAlumni Sarah DeGenova ’12 obtained her Juris Doctor from Western Law in 2020 and is currently working at Miller Thomson LLP as a Corporate and Securities Lawyer in their Business Law – Corporate, M&A and Securities Group in Toronto. Sarah is building a general corporate law practice, focussing on capital markets, securities law, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance, and she has experience representing public issuers, underwriters and private companies in a variety of transactions. During her time at Western Law, Sarah received several awards recognizing academic distinction including the Baker & McKenzie Award in International Business Transactions, the Law Society of Ontario Prize, the C.C.H. Canadian Limited Prize and the J.G. McSorley Scholarship in Family Law. Prior to law school, Sarah obtained her Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with Marketing Concentration, Business/Commerce degree from Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2016. Congratulations to #BVGAlumni Sarmen Boyajian ’07 on joining PE Gate recently as a new Partner. Sarmen previously worked at RBC Capital Markets for three years as a Vice President, Repo Trading. Additionally, Sarmen has worked at Triovest in Investments, Private Equity, and he has extensive experience working in various positions at J.P Morgan in London, UK and Hong Kong, China. Sarmen obtained his MBA degree from Ivey Business School at Western University, and completed the Summer Business Scholars Program, Finance, Accounting and Marketing from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Congratulations to #BVGAlumni Dr. Alisa Acosta ’02 on her new role as Director of Research and Education at the Blockchain Research Institute (BRI), where she is dedicated to exploring and sharing knowledge about the strategic implications of blockchain technology on business, government, and society. Alisa first joined the BRI in 2018 after completing her Ph.D. in Computer-Supported Collaborative learning from OISE, University of Toronto, where she was the recipient of a Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship. In her current role at the BRI, Alisa is responsible for leading all educational initiatives, executing the BRI research agenda, and managing the content and programming of the Blockchain Revolution Global conference. She has also served as a member of the Blockchain Program Advisory Council at the York University School of Continuing Studies. Alisa currently lives in Toronto with her husband and two-year-old daughter. We wish Alisa continued success in her future endeavors
#BVGAlumni Jabir Rustom ’92 has been working in the IT and management consulting professions since 1998 and has nearly 25 years of experience working in various senior IT and management consulting positions at Hershey, Baxter International, Johnson & Johnson, NewAGE Consulting and CONTAX. Jabir recently left the corporate world and now focusses on personal investments and philanthropic activities. We wish Jabir all the best in his future endeavours.
