Oral Health during the COVID-19 Pandemic

May 13, 2020

A Bayview Glen Community friend and supporter, Clearly Orthodontics, has put together a short video on the importance of regular brushing and flossing while we are at home.

Although dental offices are closed due to the pandemic, our enemy plaque still thrives in the mouths of all our school aged children. With COVID-19 throwing many of us off our routine, proper brushing and flossing may have decreased for many. Not only could this lead to cavities and gum disease, studies show that oral health is linked to overall health.
Watch the short video on practising good dental habits with your family:

Message from the Bayview Glen Parent Association President

April 14, 2020

Today, more than ever, I hope that this message finds you and your family well. I find it both ironic and interesting that we have spent the past few years debating the pros and cons of technology and social media, yet today, we are grateful for how our hand held devices and digital media are allowing us to stay connected and be together. As long as we try to keep the 20-20-20* eye health rule shared by Amy Chow, Registered Optician, we should embrace this opportunity to connect with old and new friends, learn a new skill or language, or take your children on a virtual tour of an art gallery or museum.

Although the school campus is currently closed, our Bayview Glen community is open. We are doing our best to adapt to the “Stay Home” lifestyle and social distancing, as we work, study and shop from home. It is important to our physical and mental wellbeing to stay connected and active during this time and to check in with family members, friends, peers and classmates. I heard a great quote on the radio the other day: “Although right now it is really important to stay at home and practice social distancing, we are hoping that at the end of this experience, we will all be closer together”.

Stay well and stay safe,

Lianne Bastien
President, Bayview Glen Parent Association

A Warm Welcome to Our Exceptional Parent Community

We are truly fortunate here at Bayview Glen to have such an inclusive and connected group of families who care deeply  about our remarkable school. There are daily signs of this connectedness all around us. It is not uncommon to see a collection of parents and extended family chatting with each other in our lobby, exchanging emails or catching up at school events.

A sense of community is one of the most valued attributes here at Bayview Glen and we, the Parent Association, are here to help. We strongly encourage all our parents to participate in the Parent Association’s events and activities for the upcoming school year, and get involved in our various fund and friend raising events. For our new parents in the Bayview Glen community, volunteering is a great way to meet Bayview Glen parents and help promote school spirit.

Stay connected with us on social media:
