Greg Church started at Bayview Glen in Grade 6, along with his younger brother Geoff, as his step-grandmother was affiliated with the school. BVG life for Greg consisted of moving from the valley to the current Upper School, ski trips to various countries, experiencing a wide variety of sports, spending time in the computer lab, being a Prefect, winning art and citizenship awards and many fond memories. On April 19 and 20, Mr. Hammond, Director of University Counselling, was at the University of British Columbia – Okanagan participating in the Canadian Independent School Counsellors conference. While there he met with two Bayview Glen alumnae: Rachel Aizen ’07 and Madeline Daigle '17. On April 18, the Bayview Glen Alumni Association hosted our inaugural BVG L!NK Alumni Networking Speaker Series focussed on the finance industry. Mr. Hammond, Director of University Counselling, met with Bayview Glen alumni on April 5 studying at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, followed by a visit with those at the Royal Military College of Canada and Queen’s University on April 10. Dr. Vinay Bhide’s Bayview Glen adventure began in the valley in 1980 as a 6 year old entering Grade 1 and as you’ll read below, he’s never really left.
