Community Involvement

Bayview Glen is committed to service within our community both nationally and internationally. The Community Involvement programme encourages students to engage in responsible and challenging activities and to become more familiar with their community. Giving back and being engaged citizens are important pillars to a Bayview Glen Education.

The Ontario Ministry of Education requires each student to complete 40 hours of Community Involvement before receiving their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. To receive the Bayview Glen Diploma, students must complete a minimum of 15 hours each year from Grades 9 to 12. Students are encouraged to reference the Student Resources Handbook for a list of ineligible activities.

Up to 10 hours of paid work can be counted towards the community involvement graduation requirement.

All students will also be required to hand in their Community Involvement Planner to Student Services. Throughout the year, volunteer opportunities are posted on the Community Involvement board on the third floor and in Edsby under Student Services.

Students can play a role in changing and improving their community through helping others and by being involved. This is your chance to make a difference!

Please contact the Upper School Student Services Office if you have any questions.
