Closing One Chapter, Beginning the Next

The Board and James Lee, Head of School

Dear Bayview Glen Community,

As we come to the close of another school year, it is a moment to pause and reflect on all that we have experienced and accomplished together.

This year has been full and rewarding. Across classrooms, stages, fields, and shared spaces, our students have learned, grown, and supported one another in ways that reflect the very heart of Bayview Glen and our School Mission of Whole Child. Purposeful Life. Better World. None of this happens in isolation. It is made possible by the dedication of our faculty and staff, the partnership of our families, and the energy and care our students bring each day. Together, you bring our mission, vision, and values to life in meaningful and lasting ways.

At this time of year, we celebrate important milestones. My warmest congratulations to our graduates in BG3, Grade 5, Grade 8, and Grade 12. Each transition represents an important step forward, supported by families whose encouragement and partnership have been an essential part of each student’s journey. We are proud of all that these students have accomplished. History continues to show that our graduates, including the Class of 2026, are not only accepted into competitive programs at leading universities worldwide, but are also well prepared to thrive there. A special congratulations to our Grade 12 graduates, including the 43 Lifers who began their journey in our Lower School and continued through Prep and Upper School. Your connection to Bayview Glen is deep, and your contributions have helped shape the community you now leave behind.

This spring, we were pleased to receive very positive results from our Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) accreditation review. This rigorous national process affirms the quality of our school and the strength of our programs and operations. The outcome reflects the collective efforts of our entire community and our shared commitment to continuous growth. I encourage you to read the summary of the report here.

In May, we were delighted to welcome alumni back to campus for a successful Reunion Weekend. Seeing graduates reconnect with one another and with faculty is a powerful reminder that Bayview Glen is more than a school. It is a community that endures well beyond graduation, shaped by relationships that remain strong over time.

In June, we took occupancy of our new Lower School Expansion and Wellness Complex, home to our Indoor Aquatics Facility and the Parent Association Lower School Gymnasium. This milestone reflects a significant investment in our students and in the future of the school. By September, the final elements, including parent bench and landscaping, will be complete as we fully bring these new spaces to life. Families have a meaningful opportunity to support this next chapter. Contributions of $500 or more will be recognized on the Community Giving Wall. I invite you to take part here.

Thank you for all that you have contributed to this school year. I wish every member of our community a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer.

Warm regards,

James Lee
Head of School
