Message from the Head of School

On behalf of all of us here at Bayview Glen, I would like to say thank you to our parent community for the tremendous co-operation and support during the COVID-19 shelter-in-place and online learning period.

I am pleased to report that all our operations are working well and this forced transition to a distant online learning community was implemented relatively smoothly and in a timely way. I have never been more proud of our faculty and staff who were able to pivot with such agility, and continue to provide meaningful learning opportunities for their students.

It has also been very gratifying to hear from you how online learning is working at home and how much you are enjoying the school-oriented interactions with your children. It’s a positive opportunity for a new kind of shared experience.

Right now, there is a lot of uncertainty around when or if school will return this year. Our plan is to continue with online learning until June should it be necessary but wait with open arms if we get the chance to see everyone before the end of the term.

We are now planning for the September school opening. At that time, we will embrace our “new normal” and move forward. Our students will take their cue from us and if we are okay, they know they will be okay as well.

Missing you.

Thank you to the entire Bayview Glen community for your continued involvement in our many great initiatives. Over 300 Prep and Upper School students went above and beyond earlier in April to help raise money for the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). Originally part of the CN Tower Climb, we brought this event online and the 1,776 stairs didn’t prove too tough for our Bayview Glen Phys Ed students. Challenges like 144 burpees and 144 push ups kept everyone moving and sweating. For every student that completed a challenge, Bayview Glen donated $1 towards the WWF. Go Gryphons – Go WWF! Stay healthy, stay happy and keep moving.
