New Alumni Association President Announced

October 2016 - Bayview Glen Alumni Association announced Chris Yeretsian as its new President.  Mr. Yeretsian will serve as the third president of the association.

“On behalf of the entire Bayview Glen Alumni Board of Directors, we are pleased and excited to have the opportunity to further our mission and good work by serving with someone of Chris’ professional caliber and character,” said John Huang, Past President of BVGAA. “We expect Chris will have a positive and immediate impact to enhance alumni relations and strengthen our community.”

Chris is a securities lawyer at the firm of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. His practice focuses on advising clients in a wide variety of capital markets transactions, including public offerings and private placements of securities, mergers and acquisitions, and financings. Chris also advises clients on matters related to corporate governance and securities regulation, continuous disclosure, and shareholder activism. Chris was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2016. He holds J.D. from the University of Toronto and H.B.A. from the Ivey Business School at Western University.

Chris’s near-term vision for the Alumni Association is to significantly enhance alumni engagement by further developing and promoting the recently launched mentorship and networking program, BVG L!NK. Chris believes that the opportunity to become a mentor or mentee through BVG L!NK provides great incentives to both new and more established alumni, including network expansion and leading to professional and personal opportunities. It is Chris’s hope that promoting the BVG L!NK program will allow alumni, parents and friends of the School to connect and engage with each other and the community on a meaningful level.

Alumni Homecoming 2016

On October 7, Bayview Glen welcomed back 65 Alumni and Staff to celebrate Homecoming 2016, an annual tradition that gives alumni the opportunity to reconnect with friends, peers, teachers and staff.

This year the theme was Thanksgiving. Decorated in festive fall ornaments and games, the Daunt Dining Hall buzzed with excitement as recent grads shared their experiences and successes since graduation.

New to homecoming this year, was BVG’s first annual food-drive, as well as the very popular Photo Booth, hosted by Monocle Booth Click here to see photo booth pictures from the event.

Many thanks to the Alumni and Staff who attended Homecoming 2016! More photos can be viewed in our Photo Gallery.

Alumni Career Breakfast

Two of our remarkable alumni captivated an early morning audience with stories from their vibrant careers in marketing and communications.

Jordan Gracey '01 and Kent Anjo '02 spoke to the Prep and Upper School community in the Learning Common at Moatfield campus about their industries. Jordan, a manager of digital marketing at Volkswagen Canada discussed the importance of building connections with an audience and the impact social media is having on the marketplace. Kent, a senior communications advisor at the Ministry of Health, emphasized the need for students to focus on honing their problem solving skills and the ability to collaborate. Both guests articulated how crucial strong communication skills are to the work they do every day. The Career Breakfasts offer a unique opportunity to gain insight from our successful alumni who graciously return to our school to share their expertise. Join us for the next Breakfast on Dec. 6th at 7:30am. The topic covered will be Healthcare.
